By studying sociology learners develop critical awareness and understanding of social issues in both local and global context and making sense of the world around them.

It helps learners see that social structures, institutions, and processes profoundly shape who they are and have the ability to influence the present and coming social futures. Sociology helps learners to understand themselves in relation to other people and larger social institutions and processes.Students will be better equipped to think and act in more socially and ethically responsible manner, by putting themselves in the situation of others and imagine how society can be improved.
