Bachelor of Arts in Microfinance and Enterprise Development (BA-MFED) is a three-year programme (six semesters) designed to enable candidates undertake analytical diagnosis of management and financing problems facing small and micro-enterprises and provide viable solutions.
The programme equips candidates with knowledge, skills, and attitude for dealing with complex issues facing microfinance and small enterprises in a competitive environment by providing critical thinking ability, problem-solving skills, and development of appropriate business attitude.
It also provides for self-confidence building, subject matter competence and innovation for progressive change in the microfinance industry and in small and micro-enterprises. The Programme prepares individuals to work in both urban and rural settings.
– Applicants should be holders of a Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) or equivalent with five passes in approved subjects and at least two Principal level passes and a total of at least 4.5 points in relevant subjects in the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (ACSEE)
– A Diploma in Microfinance Management (DMFM), Diploma in Co-operative Management and Accounting (DCMA), Diploma in Enterprise Management (DEMA) or any other relevant diploma from any accredited/recognized institution.
