The Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree of the University of Nairobi prepares undergraduate students for careers in legal education in both private and public sectors. The program is offered to both government sponsored (module I) and self sponsored (Module II) students, over period of at least eight semesters and more than twelve semesters. Each semester comprises fifteen weeks. Module II has flexible lecture schedules and admission requirements that make the LL.B programme more accessible to and accommodative of the special needs of those full time employment.
Objectives of the Law Curriculum 1
a) To expose students to the multifaceted nature of the development process and arouse their intellectual and practical interest in the phenomena of nation building, fidelity to the law and its institutions and so develop responsibility for the national heritage.
b) To introduce students to the social foundations and perspectives of the law.
c) To inculcate in students sufficient technical skills for the extraction and communication of legal information to make their intellectual and professional lives exciting and fulfilling.
d) To introduce students to the international legal order, its various manifestations and relationships with the municipal legal systems.
e) To deepen students’ appreciation of the theory and substance of the law and its application to contemporary problems.
Subject to the regulation above, no candidate shall be registered for the degree of Bachelor of Laws unless he/she has passed the Kenya Certificate of secondary Education (KCSE) examination with a minimum grade of B+ (B plus) in English

University of Nairobi has three intakes in an Academic year. Main intake being in September/October for all the courses and December/January for Bachelor of Education(Arts), Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Hospitality Management, Bachelor of Travel and Tourism April/May for Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education(Arts), Bachelor of Education Early Childhood, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Economics ,Bachelor of Economics and Statistics ,Bachelor of Journalism and media Studies, Bachelor of Art Broadcast Production, Bachelor of Hospitality Management, Bachelor of Travel and Tourism, Bachelor of Arts Broadcast Production and all Diploma and Certificate courses.
