Programme Overview

Course Objectives
The Master of Arts Degree in Diplomacy aims to:
– Acquaint participants with new developments in the practice of diplomacy
– Acquaint students with advanced issues of diplomatic methods and practice
– Provide high level trained manpower in diplomacy to take up management and leadership positions, both in Kenya and in the region
– Encourage research in Diplomacy


The core course units for this course are common to all the other M.A. programmes offered at the Institute because of the belief that it is essential to offer certain courses so as to reflect the essential character of diplomacy and international studies of the Institute.  This practice is also common in other postgraduate programmes such the Masters in Business Administration where students may specialize in particular areas but have to take certain core courses.
