Programme Overview

The curriculum for the degree of Bachelor of Civil Engineering is designed to produce graduates with sufficient theoretical knowledge, design skills and practical experience that will enable them fit into any area of Civil Engineering practice.

The programme aims at giving a chance to already trained graduates from tertiary institutions to further their studies. Qualified and Practicing Civil Engineers who are holders of Diploma in Engineering or its equivalent will be trained to a Bachelor of Civil Engineering level.

The cornerstone of the programme is the deliberate emphasis placed on computer applications in solving engineering problems and the possibility of Electives for specialization.

Objectives
At the end of the training, the student will have acquired practical and conceptual skills in research, consultancy, planning, design, development, operation and maintenance founded on scientific principles, upon which Civil Engineering is based.

Admission Requirements

In order to become eligible for admission to the undergraduate degree programmes, the applicant should satisfy the following requirements:
– Have ‘0’ level passes in Mathematics and English, which are compulsory and compose schedule A of the required courses;
– Have ‘0’ level passes in either one or two subjects from schedule B, and; Have ‘0’ level passes in one or two subjects from schedule C to make a total of five subjects

Candidates are requested to apply on-line by logging on the Copperbelt University website at https://www.cbu.ac.zm and clicking on the apply now icon. Applicants are further advised to complete and submit the form online and thereafter print the ZANACO student Bill Master form. This is what will be used to make a payment of k150.00 at any Zambia National Commercial Bank Branch (ZANACO).
