The MCom Accountancy gives postgraduate students the opportunity to become a specialist in their particular field. It is also a degree that candidates may want to consider if they are exploring the possibility of pursuing an academic career. It comprises seven coursework modules, which count towards 50% of the degree, and a research report that counts a further 50%.

Additional Entry RequirementsBAccSc(Honours) or Higher Diploma in Accountancy; or membership of the SAICA (or equivalent body); Work experience; Good analytical skills.
Admission into the Master of Commerce is generally restricted to those who have an Honours degree or SAQA-equivalent degrees. Graduates from universities outside the Republic must obtain SAQA certification and satisfy the general accreditation requirements of the Human Sciences Research Council. An excellent command of the English is compulsory for admittance into the course.

*Students from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) member countries pay the same annual tuition fees as South Africans plus an International Registration Fee (IRF). The SADC member countries are Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
*Students sponsored by the Government of Rwanda will be treated as and pay the same amount as SADC students.
*Students from all other countries (Non-SADC) will pay the same amount as South African Students
*Diplomats and their dependents stationed in South Africa & International Wits employees and their dependents will pay South African tuition fees + International Registration Fee (IRF).
